The intellectual property protecting Lok-N-Blok products — trademarks, trade dress, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets — is owned by Lok-N-Blok Systems LLC ("Lok-N-Blok", "we") or its licensors. This page identifies our protected marks, provides patent marking under 35 U.S.C. § 287, and describes the limited ways you may reference our IP.

Other product names, logos, and slogans appearing on blokusa.com may be trademarks of Lok-N-Blok or their respective owners. Nothing on this site should be construed as granting a license to use any trademark without the prior written permission of the mark owner.

2. Patent marking (35 U.S.C. § 287)

Lok-N-Blok products and the Lok-N-Blok block geometries are protected by one or more United States and international patents, including but not limited to the following:

• Issued U.S. utility patents covering the interlocking block geometry, fastener system, and thermal-bridge configuration (specific patent numbers on product packaging and available at info@blokusa.com).
• U.S. design patents covering the ornamental block profile.
• Additional patents pending in the United States and internationally.

In accordance with the America Invents Act (35 U.S.C. § 287(a)), we provide virtual patent marking. A current list of Lok-N-Blok products and the patent numbers that cover them is available at /legal/patents.html (or upon request to info@blokusa.com).

3. Permitted references (nominative fair use)

You may truthfully refer to Lok-N-Blok by name in the following contexts without prior permission, provided you comply with the guidelines below:

• News, commentary, and reviews — reference our product or company for purposes of news reporting, commentary, criticism, teaching, scholarship, or research.
• Comparative advertising — truthful, non-misleading comparisons of your own product to ours.
• Compatibility claims — indicating that your product is compatible with, or accessory to, Lok-N-Blok® blocks, provided the claim is accurate.

When referencing our marks: use the ® symbol on first use, use the mark exactly as registered (not as a verb, possessive, or plural), do not alter our logos, and do not use our marks in a way that implies sponsorship or endorsement unless a written agreement exists.

4. Prohibited uses

• You may not use our marks as part of your own trademark, trade name, domain name, social media handle, or product name.
• You may not use our marks in any way likely to cause confusion as to source, sponsorship, or endorsement.
• You may not use our marks in advertising for, or in any way associated with, products that compete with ours in a manner that creates confusion.
• You may not use any of our copyrighted content (photography, diagrams, copy, video) without written permission.
• You may not reverse-engineer, copy, or create derivative works of our patented block geometries. Independent design-arounds that do not practice the claims of our patents are not prohibited, but we will evaluate any commercial competitor's design against our issued claims.

5. Trade dress

The overall appearance, packaging, and presentation of Lok-N-Blok products — including block color palette, surface texture, and distinctive interlocking profile — function as trade dress identifying Lok-N-Blok as the source. Use of confusingly similar trade dress by a third party may constitute unfair competition under the Lanham Act § 43(a) and state unfair-competition law.

6. Trade secrets + confidential information

Manufacturing tolerances, material formulations, customer lists, pricing formulas, financial projections, deal-specific data, and any other information marked "Confidential" or clearly confidential by its nature constitute trade secrets under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (18 U.S.C. § 1836) and state uniform trade-secret law. Access is limited to persons who have executed an NCNDA. Misappropriation triggers the remedies described in the NCNDA, which include injunctive relief, damages, and attorneys' fees.
